If you purchase a home valued at $250,000 the annual property taxes would calculate as follows:

$250,000 (assessed value)

Multiply by .4 (40%)
Divide by 1,000
Multiply by city millage rate (see below) = yearly tax
Divide by 12 for your monthly property tax.
